St. Helens Park Improvements
Did our video announcement of a new cat park at McCormick Park (https://www.facebook.com/StHelensPR) have you wondering what in the world is going on with St. Helens city parks? While we were pulling your leg about the cat park (it IS April 1), now that you are here, we would love to share with you some of the exciting real-life improvements happening in your local community parks! Click on each project title to learn more.
McCormick Park Playground Improvements (Project currently underway): This project is replacing the old playground with a brand new playground featuring all-abilities options, fall protection, and a much larger play area.
Campbell Park Improvements (Project currently underway): This project is replacing the old sports courts with new flex courts, improving storm drainage and adding parking and improved ADA access.
Riverwalk and Columbia View Park Stage Design (Project currently underway): This two-phased project focuses on increasing Columbia River waterfront accessibility through improvements to Columbia View Park and a portion of the vacant riverfront property immediately adjacent to the park.
Fifth Street Trail Project (Project completed): This project installed an off-street walking trail in a portion of vacant South 5th Street right-of-way to connect residents to Nob Hill Nature Park and the St. Helens riverfront.
