Campbell Park Improvements

PROJECT FINISH DATE: OCTOBER 2021

It's been a long time in the making between the Parks Master Plans and funding opportunities. Campbell Park will see some much needed TLC over the next several months. Above is a rendering of the finished look  when the project is complete.

Here are a list of the upgrades coming soon to Campbell Park:

  1. Expanded parking
  2. Walking path from North Vernonia Road
  3. New sport courts that will accompany tennis, pickle ball and basketball
  4. New nature walk pathway around a new stormwater retention nature area with interpretative signage that will take the place of the old basketball courts.
  5. Additional seating in between the sport courts
  6. Improved stormwater facilities to redirect water off the new courts
  7. Improved ADA access

Funding for this project is thanks to a partial grant from Oregon Parks and Recreation for $187,024. The total cost of these improvements will be $312,099. The remaining funds are coming from the City as a Grant-Matching promise that includes in-kind labor from the City's Public Works crews for demolition of the existing courts, grading, site preparation, and stormwater improvements.

As of April 1, 2021, the old sports courts have been demolished, storm drainage has been improved, and the City is exploring value engineering options to keep the project on target.
