St. Helens Shooting Suspect in Custody

ST. HELENS, OR -- On Monday, July 15, 2019, Adam Corey Fleming, the suspect of a shooting in St. Helens, Oregon, was located and taken into custody in Sacramento, California with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service. The St. Helens Police Department worked diligently with local, state, and federal law enforcement officers to locate Fleming after he was identified as the suspect of a shooting which occurred on Tuesday, July 2.

On July 2, at approximately 10:15 p.m., St. Helens officers responded to a Cowlitz Street residence for a report of gunshots fired. The officers located two victims at the scene that had sustained gunshot wounds.

One victim sustained a gunshot wound to the upper arm. The other victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the lower extremities. A female juvenile was also located inside the home. She was unharmed. Both gunshot victims were transported to a Portland area hospital with serious injuries.  

The shooting suspect, Adam Corey Fleming, fled the residence prior to officers arriving on scene. Before he was apprehended in California, Fleming was last seen in Clackamas, Oregon at approximately 2 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3.
