Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle

ST. HELENS, OR -- On Tuesday, October 29, at approximately 9:59 a.m., St. Helens officers responded to a traffic collision involving a motor vehicle versus pedestrian on Sykes Road near Highway 30.

Based on the preliminary investigation at the scene, impaired driving, speed, and distracted driving are not suspected to be factors. The yet to be identified adult female pedestrian was transported to a Portland area hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is fully cooperating with authorities.

St. Helens Police Department was assisted on the scene by the Oregon State Police, who conducted a crash reconstruction.
