New St. Helens Bicycle/Pedestrian Street Signs

Question: Why is the font on the new St. Helens street signs so small? I can’t read it.
Answer: This summer, vehicle-sized signs were added to key intersections on Columbia Boulevard. This November, smaller street signs on Courthouse Plaza-inspired lamp posts were installed with much smaller font. They are designed for pedestrians and bicyclists.
The signs are part of Travel Oregon grants awarded to the City of St. Helens to create a Branding & Wayfinding Master Plan (adopted in 2017) and install unified, branded signage. The plan includes installing different types of signs for multiple types of travel, including vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians.
Additional bicycle route signs will be installed soon.
