    Margaret Jeffries

    Margaret Jeffries began her employment with the City of St. Helens in 2009 as a part-time Children’s Specialist and was promoted to Library Director in July 2010. She has a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Alabama and obtained her Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) in 2008 from the University of Washington. Before working at the City of St. Helens, Jeffries had internships at Tualatin Public Library and Multnomah County Library’s School Corps, as well as being an on-call reference librarian with the Beaverton City Library. Jeffries currently serves as the staff liaison to the City of St. Helens Library Board and the Arts & Cultural Commission. Since becoming Library Director, Jeffries has worked to create partnerships in the community and to make the Library increasingly relevant and accessible to the people of the community by providing information in newer and emerging as well as traditional formats.
