City Recognizes Employees for 5 Years of Service

During today’s City Council meeting, Municipal Court Clerk April Messenger and Water Systems Operator Ethan Stirling were recognized for five years of service with the City of St. Helens.
 
April previously worked for the City as a part-time Deputy Court Clerk before returning to the City in 2016 as an Office Assistant. In 2017, April became a Utility, Banking, and Court Specialist. She now serves the City as a Court Clerk since 2020. April’s coworkers describe her as quick to master new skills and as someone who will always greet any task put to her with an enthusiastic “yes!” She is recognized for her dedication, hard work, and great customer service.
 
Ethan Stirling began working for the City’s Public Works Department in 2016 as a Utility Worker I. In May 2019, he became a Water Systems Operator, where he serves today. While announcing Ethan’s Length of Service Award during today’s Council meeting, Mayor Scholl described Ethan as a “rising star,” recognizing the value of his work as a water tester and commending him for earning his certifications quickly.
