Building Permit Procedure
Sewer Connection
The builder is responsible for opening a trench to the main sewer line. The City will only do the tap after the builder exposes the main and completes any necessary shoring. The builder is responsible for connecting to the tap and backfilling.
Water Connection
When you are ready for the water meter to be installed, call the Public Works Department at 503-397-3532 to schedule the installation.
It is the builder's responsibility to bring the water line from the meter to the structure.
Inspection Procedure
When requesting inspections call 503-366-8234. Please have the following information available:
- Permit number
- Owner and contractor names
- Job address
- Telephone contact number
24-hour notice is required for inspections.
City Hall is open 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. You may leave after-hour inspection requests (for the following business day) on the telephone voice mail. Requests received after 4:00 p.m. will be scheduled for the following business day.
The Inspection Record must be posted on the site.
