The City of St. Helens is seeking qualified applicants to fill their Finance Director position. The successful candidate will be a hands-on Finance Director with extensive local government experience in finance management, accounting, fiscal reporting and control, budget development and monitoring, development of financial policies, the implementation of sound financial practices and an understanding of municipal resources.
The Finance Director works closely with the City’s leadership team to develop and implement the City’s Budget, enhance programs and services, assist in purchasing processes, and provide management analysis on a broad array of operational and capital opportunities. The position exercises considerable judgment and discretion in formulating, managing, and controlling administrative and fiscal policies including strategic planning for financial systems.
Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business, or Public Administration, or closely related field; five years’ managerial experience in budget administration, fiscal operations, accounting, and auditing; two years’ experience received in a municipality or governmental agency. The annual salary for Finance Director is $81,612 – $99,168 depending on qualifications. Our benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, life, PERS retirement, and much more.
