Nob Hill Nature Park

Nob Hill Nature Park is an oak woodland habitat near Olde Towne St Helens. Filled with native white oak trees, as well as shrubs and wildflowers, it makes a good place for birdwatching and flower study. Some of the things you might see there in spring include camas, trillium and fawn lilies. Perched on a basalt bluff, it looks out on the Columbia River, where Multnomah Channel joins the main channel. The park is small, only about 5 acres. It has a network of trails, so it makes a fun destination for local walks. (There is some poison oak, so please stay on trails.) 

We are gradually improving Nob Hill Nature Park, with a little help from our friends. The Friends of Nob Hill Nature Park, in conjunction with Scappoose Bay Watershed Council, continue to work on removal of invasive plants, including English ivy, holly and blackberries. We hold volunteer work parties twice yearly. Our next work party at Nob Hill Nature Park is Saturday April 7, 2012, from 9:30 AM to noon. Meet at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Bring hand tools, drinking water and snacks, and dress for muddy conditions. 

The park is open year-round, daily from dawn to dusk. The main trailhead is located across from the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant, at 451 Plymouth, in St Helens, OR 97051. We look forward to seeing you in the woods.
