PASS THIS ON TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW WHO IS EXPERIENCING THESE FRIGID TEMPERATURES:

During freezing temperatures such as what we've been experiencing lately, water pipes can very easily freeze up in your house.

This is a courtesy reminder to take precautions to prevent this from happening to you:
If you experience freezing pipes, call the St. Helens Dispatch number at (503)397-1521.  Do not tamper with the City's water meter.  You may be able to use a blow dryer (NEVER A TORCH, THOUGH), to blow hot air on the meter to warm it up.  But call Dispatch before you do that.

The Weather Channel has some tips on preventing freezing pipes which might help you.  Check out this link:

PLEASE SEND THIS TO ALL THE PEOPLE YOU KNOW.  And if you know anybody who owns a vacant building or home, please try to contact them to help them prevent freezing pipes which can wind up causing extensive damage to buildings and homes.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, help your neighbors, especially the elderly and disabled.

Thank you.
