City Council

 

There is to be elected at the ensuing general election to be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 for said City of St. Helens, Oregon:

 

One (1) Mayor                        Two-Year Term

One (1) Council Position #2        Four-Year Term

One (1) Council Position #4        Four-Year Term

 

And, there have been nominated the following named persons for said nonpartisan offices in the City of St. Helens:

 

For Position of MAYOR:

 

Douglas Morten, Independent

Randy Peterson, Independent (Incumbent)

 

For COUNCIL POSITION #2:

 

Steve W. Blanchard, Independent

Keith Locke, Independent (Incumbent)

 

For COUNCIL POSITION #4:

 

Patrick Martyn, Independent

Charles Grant, Independent (Incumbent)

Joe Cason, Independent

 

All of said persons have filed with the City Elections Official their certificates of such nominations or paid the appropriate filing fee, and each and all of them have accepted the nomination in due form of law.

Ballot Measures

 

Annex 755 N. Columbia River Hwy.:

On February 1, 2008, Wayde Elliott, representing Elliott Heights LLC, applied to the City of St. Helens for annexation of approximately 8.81 acres of land located at 755 N. Columbia River Highway.  On May 21, 2008, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 3083, which approved the annexation and zoned the property LI, Light Industrial, contingent upon the voters approving the annexation as required by the City Charter, Chapter 1, Section 3.  Approval of this request will make the property subject to all City ordinances and regulations.

 

Annex 60006 Windy Ridge Drive:

On June 23, 2008, Steven Jonker and Agnes Duaves applied to the City of St. Helens for annexation of approximately 0.93 acres of land located at 60006 Windy Ridge Drive.  On September 3, 2008, the City Council will consider adoption of Ordinance No. 3092, which would officially approve the annexation and zone the property R10, Suburban Residential contingent upon the voters approving the annexation as required by the City Charter, Chapter 1, Section 3.  Approval of this request will make the property subject to all City ordinances and regulations.
